Nevada’s skyline or the skyline of Las Vegas at least, has more in common with the skylines of Dubai or Macau than the rest of the United States. The gleaming modern casinos and skyscrapers, the glittering lights of The Strip, the flashing neon signs of various hotel-casino resorts, these are the quintessential images of the city and they’re the perceptions that market the state throughout the US and indeed the world.
